A tough pill to swallow...

Every Friday I get the unfortunate privilege of listening to NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg for an hour on WABC?s John Gambling show where he gets to pat himself on the back for all his grand socialist accomplishments. For those of you not familiar with this guy, Bloomberg is the epitome of the acronym ?RINO.? Up until the 2001 NYC mayoral election, he was a life long Democrat embracing all the political views of the far-left including, but not limited to higher taxes, gun control, abortion on demand and gay rights. Since then, he has continued his charade of calling himself a Republican while acting like a typical Democrat. From raising NYC taxes through the roof to imposing a Nazi-like ban on smoking throughout NYC, Mike Bloomberg has proven to be quite an ardent socialist liberal. When I hear him say things like "Guns kill people, it's time to get them off the streets," knowing full well that he employs his own personal armed bodyguards, it just makes me want to smash my radio into a million little pieces! Typical liberal hypocrite! What?s good for him isn?t equally deserved for folks like you or I!

Anyway, this past Friday I heard Bloomy say that he?s planning to increase taxes for a $3 million program aimed at promoting use of the morning after pill "Plan-B." Of course they plan on using that money to inform school kids about this new wonder drug instead of pushing for abstinence and I?m sure that they will conveniently forget about telling them that it?s just another form of abortion, it?s only 89% effective and like "the pill," there are some very real and risky side effects. Ongoing studies have found that use of birth control pills increases the likelihood of stroke and pulmonary embolism, anxiety and depression and research is still ongoing as to weather or not oral contraceptives are linked to breast and uterine cancers. Like its predecessor "Preven," Plan-B is similar to taking a quadruple dosage of a birth control pill thereby forcing the womb to reject the fertilized egg. I liken this to a scenario where a child is desperately reaching out for the comfort and safety of its mother?s loving arms and instead the mother throws the child off the top of a 20 story building. The deeper issue here is that people need to wake up and realize that as soon as a human egg is fertilized, the mystery of human life begins, intentional or otherwise it is still a viable human being with specific needs to maintain its life. By denying that human being - a defenseless unborn child - the essentials needed for him or her to live, weather you like it or not, you are committing murder.
