Piggies are so cute and they're damned good eatin' too! My favorite part is the loin 'cause it's so tender and cooks up so nice and juicy (well marinated of course). I know folks what got piggies fer pets and they act so much like dogs that it's almost surreal. In fact, they say that most piggies are smarter than dogs which makes you wonder; why does our mouth water so much at the thought of a pig roast but not dog roast? If piggies are so damned smart, why do we find ourselves domesticating the dumber animal in the first place? Oh well, I guess doggies are a bit more cute and much more cuddly. Have you ever tried petting an adult piggie? They've got the coarsest hair of almost any animal I've ever known! The cuddle factor must be the reason we love doggies so much more.
Anyway, there's this game I've played for the passed 15 years which I found to be even way more fun than shooting fish in a barrel. It's called "Pass the Pigs" and just today I found out that someone turned it into a flash game! Although it's nowhere near as fun as it is rolling those cute little piggies off your fingers, it does offer a close simulation to the real thing.
You roll the piggies like you do a pair of dice and depending on how they land, you add up points against your opponent. The trick is to know when to stop before they land on opposite sides - thereby eliminating any points you accumulated during your turn - and pass them on to your opponent to do the same. If they land leaning against each other you loose all points accumulated during the game and have to start over from zero. The object of the game is to be the first to reach 100 points or have the most points accumulated after 10 turns. In real life, you can make up extra rules and set the winning number to be whatever both players wish to agree upon. That's the other thing that makes playing the real game that much more fun. The real game is only like $10 and if you do an internet search for it, you'll find a lot of places where it can be purchased. My advice is to get the real deal, but for now, just click the picture below to play the flash version. Have fun!
