Remember back a week ago I mentioned that I was working at putting up the outdoor lights? HA! Thought it would only take me a day? HA HA!! I was soooooo wroooooooooong!!! I started by untangling all the lights I put away in a box last year... day 1. Then I plugged in each string of lights to make sure they worked and repaired what didn't... day 2. Next, I hung them outside and literally froze my balls off. They worked for about 10 minutes then they ALL died... day 3.
"Not to worry, I'm a MAN, I can fix this."
I then replaced the little fuses in the plugs... they worked again... then died 10 minutes later, so I divided the run into three separate strings of lights, replaced the fuses and they worked. Well, almost. two strings of the icicle lights were out and using I couldn't figure out where the bad bulbs were using my volt/ohm meter... day 4. So finally, I stopped at the local hardware store, spent 7 bucks and change on one of those new light testers which ended up being pretty much worthless. In a final act of desperation I pulled each little light out, tested is and replaced about 2 dozen or so and, at last, they finally worked... day 5.
As I stood back and took the above picture, so proud of my hard work and determination to get-er-done, I noticed something odd. If you look at the icicle lights on the left, you'll notice that they are a little bit longer than the rest. Upon closer inspection, I realized that they were indeed a different string from the rest.
"F#@% IT!!! At 300 feet away from the road, who the hell's gonna know the difference!"
