If this is any indication...

of the tone for 2008, then forget about what I said in my previous post about me retaining my sanity.

New Year's Eve Countdown Goes Green for 2008
Times Square New Year's Eve Ball Uses Enough Electricity to Make Toast for Breakfast
By Dan Shapley

The Times Square New Year's Eve ball turns 100 today at midnight, and it's designers are marking the occasion with a brand new ball that is not only more colorful and brighter, but far more energy efficient as well.

With nearly 10,000 LED bulbs (that's light-emitting diode, the most energy efficient bulb on the market), the ball will be twice as bright when it lights up at the stroke of midnight during the world's most famous new year's celebration.

And how energy-efficient are the new bulbs? The Los Angeles Times had this apt comparison: The ball will use only as much energy as about 10 toasters.

*snip*

Two things immediately came to mind when I first saw this pathetic site at 10 seconds to midnight:

First, that was the dimmest and dullest New Year's ball I had ever seen drop in Times Square.

Second, how many starving children didn't get to have toast this evening due to some smug greenie's determination to fulfill their wet dream this New Year's Eve?

Wrapping it up here folks...

another year down the drain.

For the most part, this year for me was a time of rebirth. Even though many unfortunate circumstances fell in my path, there were also many things to be thankful for and for that, I cannot say that this year was a complete disappointment. Among the worst was my bouncing in between jobs, being laid up in the hospital back in June without health insurance, having my family attacked by a bunch of blood sucking leeches, and putting on a few too many pounds. On the upside, I settled back into a good job, the hospital and emergency services only cost me about three grand, my family is on a good road to recovery and I am pretty determined to shed this excess belly baggage come this new year. My physical and financial health are both getting better and I haven't yet given up on my mental health... I think. To be rather cliche...

I'm hanging in there, baby!

As for the rest of the world... we might as well be going to hen in a hell basket. Seriously, folks; it seems like every year that passes by, more and more people get suckered into believing the lies of the left. The global warming virus has created an epidemic of enviro-mental-illness rivaled in history only by the Black Plague in pre-Renaissance Europe. Even though Islamo-fascist terrorists are getting their clocks cleaned in Iraq and Afghanistan, the rest of the region still hasn't figured out how to deal with the threat using non-violent means. China's wallet has gotten fatter than ever because nobody as of yet seems to give a shit about paying homage to the red dragon for supplying us with cheap crap made by slave and child labor. Our government is being run into the ground by a bunch of of assclown Democrats and spineless Republicans. Our GOP presidential candidates are all a bunch of losers (except Thompson, who's getting next to no media coverage). Worst of all, this time next year, we might just be living under the leadership of a lying, shiftless, power hungry, communist, carpet bagging witch from Arkansas.

Regardless, I do pray for a better year ahead!

To all of you, I wish a very happy and healthy New Year!

A HucKerry Moment

Now that Christmas is just another memory (hope you all had a good one), it is time once again to be assaulted by that pathetic dog and pony show know as the 2008 presidential primary caucuses. To consider the fact that we have to put up with these political assclowns doing handstands on soapboxes for the next 9 months is enough to cause any sane individual to consider swan-diving off the top of the nearest 12 story building.

As expected, these politicrat potentials are bound to provide us with many memorable moments for us to scrutinize and tear to shreds. Take for example Mike Huckabee's John Kerry moment. Although I am sure there are other issues worthy of mention with regard to flip-flopping, today's example has more to do with Huckabee lifting a piece of John Kerry's campaign strategy right out of the play book.

Huckabee Bags a Bird in Iowa

Associated Press Writer

OSCEOLA, Iowa (AP) - Presidential contender Mike Huckabee bagged a pheasant Wednesday, offering Iowa voters the image of an experienced outdoorsman on the hunt, shotgun blasting and dogs braying.

Just a campaign gambit? "Maybe it will show that I certainly understand the culture of being outdoors," Huckabee said. "It's not something we had to go out and get a primer in. It's very much ordinary to me."

*snip*

While Huck might be getting accolades from pro-gun groups such as the NRA, his gratuitous hunting publicity brings to mind that moment in Kerry's campaign when he felt it was important to make an impression on "average folks." Back then we referred to the incident as John Kerry's "Mike Dukakis in a tank" moment. Despite any flowery reviews from the NRA, I wonder how many "average folks" know about Kuckabee's other John Kerry-like qualities such as his out of control tax-and-spend fiscal policies, mandating bennies for illegal aliens, desiring clemency for rapists and murderers, and aligning himself with the global-warming-enviro-mentally insane. Perhaps, for his next act, Huckabee can hold a photo-op of himself popping his head out of the turret of tank.

Gloria in Excelsis Deo

...And they came with haste; and they found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. And seeing, they understood of the word that had been spoken to them concerning this child. And all that heard, wondered; and at those things that were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these words, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God, for all the things they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
(Douay-Rheims - Luke 2:16-20)

To all of you and your families, I wish a very

MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!

I pray that the love and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.

Dominus Vobiscum,
Mo

Tranquilla Nox, Sancta Nox.

...And there were in the same country shepherds watching, and keeping the night watches over their flock. And behold an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the brightness of God shone round about them; and they feared with a great fear. And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, that shall be to all the people: For, this day, is born to you a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, in the city of David. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will.

Not to be forgotten this Christmas...

What better way for a leader to wish his countrymen a Merry Christmas than to ask that we remember those in harm's way for the protection of our nation. Fred Thompson's Christmas message is, compared to those from others seeking nomination for presidential candidate, a selfless act made to draw the nation's attention to those who are fighting to maintain "Peace on Earth." This man is a true leader in every sense of the word. Well done Fred.

Hmmm... not exactly Ft. Marcy park, but...

I wanted so badly to get past the Christmas holiday w/o uttering word on this site about the queen of filth. Unfortunately, I cannot let this one slide. As soon as I saw the above picture on Drudge's website I knew she had to have a hand in this somehow, but I had to wonder why. I mean, Iowa appeared to be a battle exclusively between Hussein Osama-Bama and the Wicked Witch of the West Wing. John Edwards was barely showing up on the radar. It just didn't make any sense. So I thought I would go over to FOX and see if they had anything on this "bombshell," and to my surprise...

John Edwards Leads Democrats, Mitt Romney Catches Up to Mike Huckabee in New Iowa Poll
by FOXNews.com
Tuesday, December 18, 2007

A new InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion poll out of Iowa shows John Edwards leaping from third to first place in Iowa, and the GOP field ever-tightening, as the Jan. 3 caucuses approach.

The Democratic poll, taken from Dec. 16-17 of 977 Democrats who said they intend to participate in the caucuses, showed Edwards with 30 percent, followed by New York Sen. Hillary Clinton with 26 percent and Illinois Sen. Barack Obama with 24 percent.

Christmas Music of Yesteryear

Christmas music isn't what it used to be. Most of the crap out there today just doesn't have the same feel as it used to. Everybody is trying to put a progressive spin on traditional Christmas tunes that have warmed our hearts for decades and as a result, it makes a great holiday feel miserable. Nothing beats the oldies when it comes to Christmas music. So this year, since I incorporated the MoFiZiX MuZiX Jukebox, I felt the need to bring back some of that old time happiness by showcasing a collection of Christmas songs dear to everyone's heart. It features the masters of holiday spirit and good cheer like Sinatra, Crosby, Doris Day, Cole, and others. I also threw in a few of the more recent artists whom I felt made positive contributions to the Christmas music genre. I also put the music to a slideshow collection of Christmas and winter artwork for visual effect. I do hope you all enjoy the show. It's still a work in progress as I am hoping to add more before Christmas day. It also took forever to coordinate and took hours away from helping Mamma around the house (sure hope I don't get coal in my stocking because of it). Just click on the trumpet playing Santa to get started.

...and thanks for hanging in there folks. I hope it was worth the wait.

I've got a couple of ideas and in the next day or so I hope to have one up and working so bear with me here folks. You know when I set my mind to doin' somthin', I won't quit until I get it just right.

Navigating with a Brokeback Compass

What the Atheist Left-Wing Media is refusing to tell you.

Every Christmas season brings a renewed conflict over the celebration of Christ's birth and Christianity in general. Every year we hear intensified caterwauling by PC liberals, atheists, agnostics, pagans and satanists seeking to eliminate any mention or symbol of Christmas from public view. Over the past decade, there also appears to have been a concentrated effort by Hollywood to trash the holiday season by releasing films that make a mockery of Christmas and denigrate the Christian faith. With the weekend release of "The Golden Compass," this year is no exception and the marketing techniques are in fact more insidious than any previous year.

For months we knew it was coming. It was being heralded as an exciting new film made in the tradition of "Lord of the Rings" and "Narnia" when in fact it was produce as an antithesis to those Christian based fictional masterpieces. "The Golden Compass" is based on Philip Pullman's children's book series called "His Dark Materials." Pullman is a militant atheist seeking to indoctrinate the masses by sneaking this film in under the radar during the Christmas season. The Catholic League found out about the movie's production and immediately sounded the alarm. In an effort to warn the unsuspecting public about the motives behind the movie, they released a booklet exposing Pullman and his works. Go HERE to read it in PDF format.

When word got out about the truth behind the movie, the producers of the film fought back by hiring a team of highly trained spinsters to promote the film and the editors made an effort to "sanitize" the film's content prior to release so as not to overtly offend religious viewers. The MSM also offered their assistance in hyping the film's release. They even went so far as to lobby for and received an endorsement from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). With the endorsement in hand, the spinsters then attempted to market the film with the USCCB seal of approval. Obviously, it wasn't enough. By the time the film opened last Friday, word reached enough people to ensure the film suffered a weak opening.

After the dust settled on Monday morning and the weekend totals came in, the MSM continued to push the hype, insisting that despite rumors to the contrary, the USCCB DID in fact endorse the film...

CORRECTION: "Golden Compass" disappoints at box office
Sun Dec 9, 2007 1:58pm EST

(Corrects paragraph 9 in Dec. 8 story to make clear that U.S. Conference of Bishops endorsed the movie, and did not oppose it)

By Dean Goodman

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "The Golden Compass," a costly fantasy starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, got off to a slow start at the North American box office and will likely fall short of opening-weekend expectations.

New Line Cinema's $180 million film sold an estimated $8.8 million worth of tickets during its first day in theaters on Friday, according to data issued on Saturday by tracking firm Box Office Mojo (www.boxofficemojo.com).

After Saturday and Sunday sales are factored in, the film will come in at No. 1 with about $28 million when the studios issue their weekend estimates on Sunday, said Paul Dergarabedian at Media By Numbers, another tracking firm.

New Line, a struggling Time Warner Inc unit hoping to launch another franchise along the lines of its blockbuster "Lord of the Rings" series, said last week it was hoping the film would open to between $30 million and $40 million.

"It's below expectations, but it's not an out-and-out debacle," said Dergarabedian.

Conspiring against the movie, he said, were such factors as a soft marketplace and unrealistic expectations for an epic fantasy filling the holiday void left by the "Narnia" and "Lord of the Rings" smashes.

A New Line executive did not return a call seeking comment.

Based on the first book in British author Philip Pullman's acclaimed children's series "His Dark Materials," writer/director Chris Weitz's film is set in an alternate world ruled by an oppressive religious authority. It features talking animals and a heroine played by youngster Dakota Blue Richards.

Even though the film downplays the religious aspect, it has been savaged by the Catholic League, a New York group that promotes religious and civil rights. Opponents said the book on which the movie is based gave an unflattering portrayal of the church and specifically the Catholic faith.

But the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops described the movie as "an exciting adventure story with a traditional struggle between good and evil."

For a while there even I was fooled into believing this half truth. When I dug a little deeper, I found out something very, very interesting...

US Bishops asked to Fire Chief Film Critic over Glowing Reviews for "Brokeback" and "Compass"
"Bishops horrified at what has been done in their name"

By John-Henry Westen

WASHINGTON, DC, December 3, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Bishops of the United States are being asked to fire the chief movie reviewer for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Harry Forbes, the Director of the USCCB Office for Film and Broadcasting, has reignited scandal by praising the film "The Golden Compass" which is based on an anti-Catholic novel.

Forbes caused similar controversy two years ago when he issued a glowing review in the name of the USCCB for the homosexual propaganda film "Brokeback Mountain".

Pete Vere, who has a written book on the author of The Golden Compass, spoke with LifeSiteNews.com about the USCCB review. "Several bishops have spoken to me about this review and they are horrified at what has been done in their name," Vere told LifeSiteNews.com. "Certainly the USCCB has to revisit its rules for issuing movie reviews." Vere's book co-authored by Sandra Miesel, Pied Piper of Atheism: Philip Pullman and Children's Fantasy, is to be released by Ignatius Press before Christmas.

Fr. Tom Euteneuer, the President of Human Life International, has called on the US Bishops to fire Forbes and his subordinate John Mulderig who co-authored the review of The Golden Compass. The HLI leader was incredulous that the USCCB review could recommend the film for children despite the fact that it admits the film has "occult elements" and carries a "sprit of rebellion".

"The fact that these gentlemen could recommend this movie to children is just abhorrent to me. I really do believe these guys should be fired," Fr. Eueneuer told LifeSiteNews.com. "Whatever happened to rejecting Satan and all his empty work and empty promises."

The USCCB review notes the great artistry of the film, but such is no reason to approve of it warned Fr. Euteneuer who has taken part in exorcisms. "St. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 11 that the devil comes dressed as an angel of light. And this is very clearly what is happening. They have taken an atheistic work and dressed it up as something good for kids."

Noting Forbes' former scandalous positive review of Brokeback Mountain, Fr. Euteneuer said, "The fact (the USCCB) didn't fire him at that time is what leads to this kind of thing. When you don't rebuke irresponsibility in using an office to spread errors then it leads to more irresponsibility."

In a rare move, the US Catholic League last week publicly slammed the USCCB Golden Compass review in exclusive comments to LifeSiteNews.com (see: http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2007/nov/07113001.html)

*snip*

Although I am thoroughly disgusted with the deceit of the MSM and those marketing this atheistic crap to our children, I am equally - if not more so - appalled by the lack of action from the USCCB in addressing this outrageous apostasy within its own folds. Not surprisingly, this is just another example of the ineptitude shown by these so-called leaders of the faith; the same group responsible for the shell game that shuffled homosexual and pedophile priests around the country in order to cover up the devil's infiltration of the Catholic Church. It just goes to show that when you navigate with a Brokeback Compass, you inevitably lead others down the prim-rose path to hell.

*NBC stands for Neo Bastard Commies...

Hats off to the folks over at FreedomsWatch.org for their part in honoring our brave American troops overseas this holiday season with two very heart warming a-political ads. Unfortunately, the left-wing bastard commies over at NBC are refusing to air the ads because the Freedoms Watch web address is displayed within them.

NBC Rejects Ad From Conservative Group
Dec 7, 3:45 PM (ET)
By JIM KUHNHENN

...Alan Wurtzel, NBC's head of standards and practices, said the network decided not to run the Freedom's Watch ad because the group insisted that the spot contain the URL address of its Web site.

The group's home page links to another Freedom's Watch Web page that lists nonprofit organizations that are sending care packages to soldiers and that suggests other ways of expressing support.

It also contains a welcoming message that states: "For too long, conservatives have lacked a permanent political presence to do battle with the radical special interests groups and their left-wing allies in government."

"We have a policy that prohibits acceptance of advertising that deals with issues of public controversy," Wurtzel said. "This particular ad, in and of itself, is fine. It thanks the troops for their action overseas. We asked them to eliminate a URL address where a person is asked to contact elected officials and told not to cut and run on the war on terror."

NBC rejected a previous Freedom's Watch ad that addressed funding for the troops.

"It's a long-term policy, it goes back decades," Wurtzel said of NBC's stance of declining controversial issue advertising.

*snip*

"It's a long-term policy, it goes back decades,"

Yep, prolly as many decades old as their tradition of being a bunch of Neo Bastard Commies. I've already blocked all of their channels on my satellite receiver. No sense in taking the chance of letting the kiddies be poisoned by their commie loving ways.

Here are the ads just as they are posted over at YouTube...

Here's a suggestion: Every blogger capable of posting these ads should do so and try to make the most viewed and posted clips on the web.

*H/T to raz0r in comments over at SondraK.com

In an apparent reversal of "decades long tradition," it looks like NBC is prepared to cave in on the Freedoms Watch ad due to the overwhelming outrage by its patrons and viewers.

While this sounds like a wonderful move on the part of NBC, I have yet to hear confirmation on this and despite any small gesture they might offer to save what little viewership they have remaining, I am quite certain they will continue being a bunch of Neo Bastard Commies airing leftist propaganda as has been their "decades long tradition."

UPDATE of the UPDATE...
Yup, it's official...

Remembering a day of great sacrifice

December 7th, 1941, a day that shook our country to its very core. As we remember the terrible price we paid for letting down our guard over half a century ago, we are reminded of how important it is to fight in order to defeat those who would seek our destruction. Most of us take our peace and freedom for granted. The price we pay for such luxuries is tremendous. In memory, let us not forget those who have paid for that peace and freedom in the blood of their sacrifice and honor the memory of those who continue to do so.

Clinton Criticizes Obama's PAC
Sunday, December 2, 2007 6:01 PM

WASHINGTON -- Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton criticized rival Barack Obama on Sunday for a political action committee he controls that has contributed money to elected officials in early presidential contest states.

Asked by reporters after an event in central Iowa if Obama's character was in question, Clinton said, "I'm going to let voters make that decision, but it's beginning to look a lot like that, ... where you can't get a straight answer on health care, where somebody who runs on ethics and not taking money from certain people has found out you have at least skirted if not violated FEC rules and used lobbyists and PAC money to do so," she said.

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

I just wonder how long this is going to last on YouTube...

When Rush speaks...

WOW! I totally missed this one. I was away from my desk after lunch on Friday and would have surely caught this otherwise.

Moderates Dominate GOP Debate; Only Fred Sounded Conservative
By Rush Limbaugh
The Rush Limbaugh Show
November 29, 2007

RUSH: It was fascinating to me, as I said, to watch this because it hit me upside the head -- even though, as I say, I instinctively knew this -- that all of the top-tier candidates, because of these questions... See, there's always a silver lining in everything. There's always an upside. Some of you might not think of this as an upside or a silver lining, but the genuine moderate as opposed to conservative aspects of three of the top-tier, four of the top-tier candidates were on full-fledged display last night. There was one candidate who did not display any moderateness or liberalism or have any of his past forays into those areas displayed, and that candidate was Fred Thompson. Now, this is not an endorsement. You know, I don't endorse during primaries. I just point out: These are things I noticed, and I've told you during the course of this one campaign year that one of the things that's bothering me, is I'm a Reagan conservative, and I believe in conservatism. It's in my soul and it's in my heart, and I know it is the best way for us to manage our affairs to ensure the most prosperity for the most, to continue our freedom, to protect our country.

*snip*

For many years Rush has been the most prominent voice of the conservative movement here in America and because of that, when he speaks, people listen - or so I hope that to be the case. Even though he's not officially endorsing Thompson at this point, him pointing out Thompson's conservative qualities above the other yahoos in the debate, goes a long way towards bringing more attention to the individual best suited for the office of President. Right on, right on, right on!
