A HucKerry Moment

Now that Christmas is just another memory (hope you all had a good one), it is time once again to be assaulted by that pathetic dog and pony show know as the 2008 presidential primary caucuses. To consider the fact that we have to put up with these political assclowns doing handstands on soapboxes for the next 9 months is enough to cause any sane individual to consider swan-diving off the top of the nearest 12 story building.

As expected, these politicrat potentials are bound to provide us with many memorable moments for us to scrutinize and tear to shreds. Take for example Mike Huckabee's John Kerry moment. Although I am sure there are other issues worthy of mention with regard to flip-flopping, today's example has more to do with Huckabee lifting a piece of John Kerry's campaign strategy right out of the play book.

OSCEOLA, Iowa (AP) - Presidential contender Mike Huckabee bagged a pheasant Wednesday, offering Iowa voters the image of an experienced outdoorsman on the hunt, shotgun blasting and dogs braying.

Just a campaign gambit? "Maybe it will show that I certainly understand the culture of being outdoors," Huckabee said. "It's not something we had to go out and get a primer in. It's very much ordinary to me."

*snip*

While Huck might be getting accolades from pro-gun groups such as the NRA, his gratuitous hunting publicity brings to mind that moment in Kerry's campaign when he felt it was important to make an impression on "average folks." Back then we referred to the incident as John Kerry's "Mike Dukakis in a tank" moment. Despite any flowery reviews from the NRA, I wonder how many "average folks" know about Kuckabee's other John Kerry-like qualities such as his out of control tax-and-spend fiscal policies, mandating bennies for illegal aliens, desiring clemency for rapists and murderers, and aligning himself with the global-warming-enviro-mentally insane. Perhaps, for his next act, Huckabee can hold a photo-op of himself popping his head out of the turret of tank.
