This year?s Super Bowl turned out to be pretty good. I must admit that I was rooting for Philly, but I must also admit that I was not too disappointed with the final results. I thought that New England put up one hell of a fight. Philly couldn?t produce interceptions or defensive sacs and then it appeared that they just gave up in the last minutes of the game. I hope they feel all proud of themselves today as peeps give em' the thumb and index finger in the shape of an "L" on the forehead salute.
The halftime show was like a complete flipside of last year?s freak show in that I almost fell asleep during McCartney?s near plastic performance with those stupid looking make-believe cigarette lighter lights at the end of his performance. Boy, you better bet those Super Bowl folks were real careful not to piss off the FCC this year.
Now, just like many others, I took some interest in the commercials that the various companies spent millions of dollars on for each minute of air-time. Some were kinda funny, some were kinda stupid and some were a little over the top, but one commercial stood out among the rest and from what I read this morning, there was at least another blogger out there that felt the same way. Michelle Malkin has great taste (if not in beer then definitely in advertisements). She correctly pointed out what many of us patriotic Americans already knew to be the Best Super Bowl Ad of them all! Anheuser-Busch ran a great advertisement saluting our brave warriors and their efforts. When I saw it, it actually brought me to tears. If you missed it, when you see it, you will know what I?m talking about.
