The full text of the decision from Federal Judge Roger Vinson is not available yet, but according to reporters who've seen the decision, he's ruled the entire Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act unconstitutional. The ruling favors of the 26 state attorney generals challenging the law. The judge ruled the individual mandate that requires all Americans to purchase health insurance invalid and, according to the decision, "because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void."
This ruling is even more significant than last month's ruling against Obamacare in Federal Court in Richmond, Virgina. This time, half of the entire country was represented in this suit, and also, the whole law has been found unconstitutional!!! Ultimately, the Supreme Court will likely have the final word on this piece of crap legislation, but so far, chances of it being relegated to the dust bin of history are looking very good!!!
RICHMOND, Va.—A federal court ruled Monday that a central plank of the health law violates the Constitution, dealing the biggest setback yet to the Obama administration's signature legislative accomplishment.
In a 42-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson said the law's requirement that most Americans carry insurance or pay a penalty "exceeds the constitutional boundaries of congressional power."
The individual mandate "would invite unbridled exercise of federal police powers," wrote Judge Hudson, of the Eastern District of Virginia. "At its core, this dispute is not simply about regulating the business of insurance—or crafting a scheme of universal health insurance coverage—it's about an individual's right to choose to participate."
The lawsuit, brought by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, is the first court ruling against the law since President Barack Obama signed it in March. More than 20 federal lawsuits have been filed against the overhaul, and judges in two of those cases ruled in favor of the Obama administration.
While the ruling creates a headache for the law's supporters, it doesn't mean states or the federal government must stop implementing the law.
*snip*
Even though the fight isn't over to stop the federal government's takeover of the healthcare system - presently the greatest system in the world, it's about time a judge with common sense ruled that this nightmare called Obamacare was in fact unconstitutional. Seriously, WTF gives them the right to force me into buy anything against my will?!?! So he can rape my grandchildren's future in order to pay for this bureaucratic monstrosity?!?!?! I realize that this is going to end up being decided by the Supreme Court, but why was this crap allowed to even be signed into law in the first place??? Hopefully SCOTUS will support this lower court's ruling that the federal government has no right to impose individual mandates for health care coverage and if that's the case, then Obamacare will fall apart completely because without the ability to penalize taxpayers for not having health care coverage, there won't be enough money available to sustain the program.
Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.), the final Democratic holdout on health care, announced to his caucus Saturday morning that he would support the Senate reform bill, clearing the way for final passage by Christmas.
"We're there," said Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), as he headed into a special meeting to outline the deal.
Democratic leaders spent days trying to hammer out a deal with Nelson, and worked late Friday night with him on abortion coverage language that had proved the major stumbling block. Nelson also secured other favors for his home state.
Under the new abortion provisions, states can opt out of allowing plans to cover abortion in insurance exchanges the bill would set up to serve individuals who don't have employer coverage. Plus, enrollees in plans that do cover abortion procedures would pay for the coverage with separate checks - one for abortion, one for rest of health-care services.
Nelson secured full federal funding for his state to expand Medicaid coverage to all individuals below 133 percent of the federal poverty level. Other states must pay a small portion of the additional cost. He won concessions for qualifying nonprofit insurers and for Medigap providers from a new insurance tax. He also was able to roll back cuts to health savings accounts.
"I know this is hard for some of my colleagues to accept and I appreciate their right to disagree," Nelson told reporters at the Capitol, of the many changes made at his behest. "But I would not have voted for this bill without these provisions."
With Nelson on board, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid unveiled the final version of a sweeping overhaul of the nation's health insurance system that would expand coverage to an additional 31 million Americans, coming closer to attaining the Democrats' long sought goal of universal medical coverage.
You're a monster, Mr. Reed! Your heart's an empty hole. Your brain is full of spiders. You've got garlic in your soul, You're a foul one, Mr. Reed! You're a nasty, wasty skunk! Your heart is full of unwashed socks. Your soul is full of gunk, Mr. Reed! The three words that best describe you Are as follows, and I quote,
WASHINGTON (AP) - A moderate Democrat whose vote could be crucial said Thursday an attempted Senate compromise on abortion is unsatisfactory, raising doubts about whether the chamber can pass President Barack Obama's health care overhaul by Christmas.
"As it is, without modifications, the language concerning abortion is not sufficient," Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, a key holdout on the health care bill, said in a statement after first making his concerns known to Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Nelson said there were positive improvements dealing with teen pregnancy and adoption, and that he was open to further negotiations. But in a radio interview earlier in the day with KLIN in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nelson also said that abortion wasn't his only concern and he didn't see how the Christmas deadline was achievable.
The development came with Senate leaders working round the clock trying to finalize their 10-year, nearly $1 trillion bill in time for a final vote on Christmas Eve. Nelson is emerging as a major obstacle - perhaps the only remaining one - since Democrats need his vote to have the 60 necessary to overcome Republican stalling tactics. [emphasis mine]
"Senator Reid will continue to work with Senator Nelson and other senators as we work to get 60 votes," said Reid spokesman Jim Manley.
At the same time, liberals were criticizing the Senate bill for lacking a government-run insurance option, with former Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean calling the measure a boon for insurance companies. Andrew Stern, head of the 2.1 million-member Service Employees International Union, said he was deeply disappointed in the bill but stopped short of urging rejection...
*snip*
The attempted abortion compromise offered to Nelson was written by another anti-abortion Democrat, Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, among others, and was an attempt to secure Nelson's support for the health care bill while also keeping liberals on board. It's the Democrats' latest attempt to strictly separate public and private money that could pay for abortion coverage under a remade health care system in which many lower-income people would be using new federal subsidies to buy health insurance.
Several previous attempts have been dismissed by Roman Catholic bishops and anti-abortion groups as accounting gimmicks, and this one looks like it may fare no better. The language has not been made public but is already drawing criticism from outside groups.
Speaking to reporters, Casey declined to directly address Nelson's objections but said he would keep trying for a compromise.
"We're trying to get this right," Casey said. "I've had ideas on the table for a while now, I'm still working through them and we'll keep talking to anyone who wants to discuss it..."

PLEASE CONTACT SEN. BEN NELSON AND ASK HIM TO PLEASE REMAIN STRONG AGAINST ABORTION IN THE HEALTH CARE BILL!!!
Before I begin with this post, please let me emphasize the importance of watching the videos I have provided below. I tried to find the shortest clips so as not to bore you to death, but to give you what I believe to be the concise and factually accurate narrative of the subject I am about to discuss. I know I've been absent for a while, but I say to you now, this is one of the most prolific entries I have ever made on this website. Sadly, to most folks, these topics go largely ignored because many have been lulled to sleep by preoccupation with prime-time television entertainment, video games and text messaging chatter about who is most likely to win the next American Idol contest. I assure you, unless more attention is paid to the topics I am about to present to you here in this posting, we will be in for a extremely rude awakening in the very near future.
Thank you, The Management
We are at the precipice of an historic and devastating shift in global socio-economics. For better than a century, communist social engineers have been hard at work devising the complete takeover of free market society and are about to see their dreams of world-wide control come to fruition. Masked in a disguise of utopianist and liberal ideology, their real desire is to attain conquest over the entire planet and exercise absolute control over all humanity, giving over all power, wealth, and control into the hands of a select few.
One of the very first systems of control in the United States was organized in the early 20th century was the establishment of the Federal Reserve. By strapping the nation in debt, progressives sought to lay the foundation of eventual economic collapse. It was heralded as sound means of controlling the nation's monetary system, but from its inception, those who devised this method of financial slavery knew that in the end, only those in control of it would retain the spoils of victory.
The first storm has formed and is gathering more strength with the passing of each day. Through years of indoctrinating America's youth into believing that only by the collective spirit, can societies truly prosper, and demonizing the very principles that made our country the greatest nation in the world, academic elitists have been able to effectively lead the sheep to their slaughter, and as the majority of our nation's citizens lie fast asleep - preoccupied with their selfish motivations - the most powerful financial system in the world was slowly being brought to its knees. With the burst of the real estate bubble, our economy was left in near ruin. This, in turn, prompted those responsible for orchestrating the disaster in the first place to move against the mortgage and banking industry in order to place control of it into the their own hands - the hands of power hungry politicians - the last place anything should be entrusted for salvation.
Then, without pause, Washington set to work on taking control of the nation's health care system. Mandating coverage of all citizenry not only would give them the glory of appearing to be the provider of heath for every man, woman, and child - securing votes through dependence on government subsidies - but would also line the pockets of union officials, government contracted health care entities and special interest groups who, in turn, would funnel money back to the politicians who keep them fat and happy through campaign contributions and other "legitimate" loopholed kickbacks. The darker side of the reason why progressives want to control the nations health care system is their desire to effectively maintain population control through their mandates of free abortion, sterilization and euthanasia. The second storm has formed.
As if two storms wasn't bad enough, there is now a third storm looming on the horizon which, if it goes to a full category 5 as I fear it will, has the propensity of combining with the first two, creating an economic disaster of biblical proportions. This storm will be the death kneel for the United States of America and will mercilessly ravage what little vestiges of freedom and security we have left. This monster was spawned under the lie that carbon emissions have a direct impact on the changes in our earth's climate. First, they tried to attribute the rise in man made carbon dioxide to the descent in global temperatures. In the 1970s, they proclaimed that the Earth was heading toward a new ice age. When that didn't pan out due to the "unexpected" INCREASE in global temperatures, they quickly moved to recast it as "global warming." On cue, they tried to attribute the rise in man made carbon dioxide to the RISE in global temperatures. They claimed that in only a scant few years the earth would overheat, burn up everything and wipe out humanity. When that didn't pan out due to the "unexpected" DECLINE in global temperatures, they quickly moved to recast it as "global climate change."
Now, with the last free nation in the world fallen into the hands of socialist political control, the wealthiest and most powerful are moving at breakneck speed to drop the hammer and complete the deal ensuring the enslavement of all humanity.
This is not a conspiracy theory, folks. What I share with you here is not a hodgepodge of unsubstantiated fact or innuendo. These forces of evil are culminating into a perfect storm that will leave no ship unturned in its wake. I tell you folks with the utmost sincerity, this is the true face of the Beast as mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Not a single individual, as many had anticipated, but a broad network of the most extremely wealthy and powerful people on the face of the Earth, and we are looking down the barrel of the largest gun that has ever been pointed at he heart of individual liberty and freedom. Unless the good people of this nation and the world wake up from their slumber and do what is necessary as soon as possible, our future will cease to exist.
Now that I am thoroughly exhausted and have to be to work in just a few hours, I will now be dumping my weary bones in the sac and calling it quits for tonight. Thanks for your attention.
What the Atheist Left-Wing Media is refusing to tell you.
Every Christmas season brings a renewed conflict over the celebration of Christ's birth and Christianity in general. Every year we hear intensified caterwauling by PC liberals, atheists, agnostics, pagans and satanists seeking to eliminate any mention or symbol of Christmas from public view. Over the past decade, there also appears to have been a concentrated effort by Hollywood to trash the holiday season by releasing films that make a mockery of Christmas and denigrate the Christian faith. With the weekend release of "The Golden Compass," this year is no exception and the marketing techniques are in fact more insidious than any previous year.
For months we knew it was coming. It was being heralded as an exciting new film made in the tradition of "Lord of the Rings" and "Narnia" when in fact it was produce as an antithesis to those Christian based fictional masterpieces. "The Golden Compass" is based on Philip Pullman's children's book series called "His Dark Materials." Pullman is a militant atheist seeking to indoctrinate the masses by sneaking this film in under the radar during the Christmas season. The Catholic League found out about the movie's production and immediately sounded the alarm. In an effort to warn the unsuspecting public about the motives behind the movie, they released a booklet exposing Pullman and his works. Go HERE to read it in PDF format.
When word got out about the truth behind the movie, the producers of the film fought back by hiring a team of highly trained spinsters to promote the film and the editors made an effort to "sanitize" the film's content prior to release so as not to overtly offend religious viewers. The MSM also offered their assistance in hyping the film's release. They even went so far as to lobby for and received an endorsement from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). With the endorsement in hand, the spinsters then attempted to market the film with the USCCB seal of approval. Obviously, it wasn't enough. By the time the film opened last Friday, word reached enough people to ensure the film suffered a weak opening.
After the dust settled on Monday morning and the weekend totals came in, the MSM continued to push the hype, insisting that despite rumors to the contrary, the USCCB DID in fact endorse the film...
(Corrects paragraph 9 in Dec. 8 story to make clear that U.S. Conference of Bishops endorsed the movie, and did not oppose it)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "The Golden Compass," a costly fantasy starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig, got off to a slow start at the North American box office and will likely fall short of opening-weekend expectations.
New Line Cinema's $180 million film sold an estimated $8.8 million worth of tickets during its first day in theaters on Friday, according to data issued on Saturday by tracking firm Box Office Mojo (www.boxofficemojo.com).
After Saturday and Sunday sales are factored in, the film will come in at No. 1 with about $28 million when the studios issue their weekend estimates on Sunday, said Paul Dergarabedian at Media By Numbers, another tracking firm.
New Line, a struggling Time Warner Inc unit hoping to launch another franchise along the lines of its blockbuster "Lord of the Rings" series, said last week it was hoping the film would open to between $30 million and $40 million.
"It's below expectations, but it's not an out-and-out debacle," said Dergarabedian.
Conspiring against the movie, he said, were such factors as a soft marketplace and unrealistic expectations for an epic fantasy filling the holiday void left by the "Narnia" and "Lord of the Rings" smashes.
A New Line executive did not return a call seeking comment.
Based on the first book in British author Philip Pullman's acclaimed children's series "His Dark Materials," writer/director Chris Weitz's film is set in an alternate world ruled by an oppressive religious authority. It features talking animals and a heroine played by youngster Dakota Blue Richards.
Even though the film downplays the religious aspect, it has been savaged by the Catholic League, a New York group that promotes religious and civil rights. Opponents said the book on which the movie is based gave an unflattering portrayal of the church and specifically the Catholic faith.
But the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops described the movie as "an exciting adventure story with a traditional struggle between good and evil."
*snip*
For a while there even I was fooled into believing this half truth. When I dug a little deeper, I found out something very, very interesting...
WASHINGTON, DC, December 3, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Bishops of the United States are being asked to fire the chief movie reviewer for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Harry Forbes, the Director of the USCCB Office for Film and Broadcasting, has reignited scandal by praising the film "The Golden Compass" which is based on an anti-Catholic novel.
Forbes caused similar controversy two years ago when he issued a glowing review in the name of the USCCB for the homosexual propaganda film "Brokeback Mountain".
Pete Vere, who has a written book on the author of The Golden Compass, spoke with LifeSiteNews.com about the USCCB review. "Several bishops have spoken to me about this review and they are horrified at what has been done in their name," Vere told LifeSiteNews.com. "Certainly the USCCB has to revisit its rules for issuing movie reviews." Vere's book co-authored by Sandra Miesel, Pied Piper of Atheism: Philip Pullman and Children's Fantasy, is to be released by Ignatius Press before Christmas.
Fr. Tom Euteneuer, the President of Human Life International, has called on the US Bishops to fire Forbes and his subordinate John Mulderig who co-authored the review of The Golden Compass. The HLI leader was incredulous that the USCCB review could recommend the film for children despite the fact that it admits the film has "occult elements" and carries a "sprit of rebellion".
"The fact that these gentlemen could recommend this movie to children is just abhorrent to me. I really do believe these guys should be fired," Fr. Eueneuer told LifeSiteNews.com. "Whatever happened to rejecting Satan and all his empty work and empty promises."
The USCCB review notes the great artistry of the film, but such is no reason to approve of it warned Fr. Euteneuer who has taken part in exorcisms. "St. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 11 that the devil comes dressed as an angel of light. And this is very clearly what is happening. They have taken an atheistic work and dressed it up as something good for kids."
Noting Forbes' former scandalous positive review of Brokeback Mountain, Fr. Euteneuer said, "The fact (the USCCB) didn't fire him at that time is what leads to this kind of thing. When you don't rebuke irresponsibility in using an office to spread errors then it leads to more irresponsibility."
Although I am thoroughly disgusted with the deceit of the MSM and those marketing this atheistic crap to our children, I am equally - if not more so - appalled by the lack of action from the USCCB in addressing this outrageous apostasy within its own folds. Not surprisingly, this is just another example of the ineptitude shown by these so-called leaders of the faith; the same group responsible for the shell game that shuffled homosexual and pedophile priests around the country in order to cover up the devil's infiltration of the Catholic Church. It just goes to show that when you navigate with a Brokeback Compass, you inevitably lead others down the prim-rose path to hell.
California atheist activist Michael Newdow is renewing his fight to remove reference to God from the Pledge of Allegiance, this time with a suit filed on behalf of an anonymous New Hampshire couple against a school district.
The couple, an agnostic and atheist with three children, say in their complaint that they "generally, deny that God exists" and contend their constitutional rights are violated when school authorities require their children to "participate in making the purely religious, monotheistic claim that the United States is 'one nation under God.'"
Newdow previously sued over the inclusion of "under God" in the pledge, but his claims were rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2004 on technical grounds. The self-described atheist said he did not want his third-grade daughter to have to listen to the phrase "under God" in a public school.
Five justices, however, found Newdow did not have the legal standing to bring the case. He never married the child's mother, who has expressed support for having "under God" in the pledge.
*snip*
I will give him this much, he is definitely one persistent, godless POS SOB. Hey, smart ass, if by any God-sanctioned miracle you are listening to me, let me sum it up for you here in the simplest terms possible: This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Our heritage is based on the premise that our survival, and our success is due to the providence of that which is responsible for our very existence and keeps us from devolving into a smug pseudo-intellectual species governed by anarchy and conceitful arrogance. If you don't like it here and feel so threatened by something that is greater than you, there are still a few godless-communist countries left in the world that continue to enslave their citizens by mandating empty dogmas such as your own and I'm sure they would be glad to have you.
Ok folks, I'm so F#@%in' mad I could drink a pint of turpentine and piss on house fire. Two days ago when the National Right to Life Committee indicated that it was going to endorse Fred Thompson for President, the story got all but a quarter of a day's worth of attention and then fell silent. Ok, perhaps they didn't want push a "rumor" to the headlines, and I can understand that. Then, yesterday they made the endorsement official, the story never made top headlines, had 15 minutes of fame and then appeared to die a quiet death. No flashing siren on Drudge's site, no "Breaking News" from FOX, absolutely NO mention at all over at World Net Daily (until I emailed Dave Kupelian and read him the riot act), and little if any mention or the story at most of the Christian news sites I am aware of.
So allow me to retort...
?!?! WTF ?!?!
Last night, in my frustration, I emailed David Kupelian and Joseph Farah over at World Net Daily to complain about their lack of attention on the Thompson/NRLC story:
Tue 11/13/2007 7:23 PM
Fred Thompson was endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee, the story has been out there since yesterday, and you fail to give ANY mention to it???
I thought you folks were solidly pro life. What happened???
A------ U------- Montgomery NY
Although they never emailed me a response, they did finally post a link to the story - several lines down - and within three hours it was pulled back off to make way for the next news cycle.
Needless to say, I was pissed. I have been a reader of WND's website and a subscriber to "Whistle Blower" magazine for years. About a year or two ago I canceled the subscription because regular timely delivery was very sporadic. Regardless, they have always been "Johnny on the spot" when it came to reporting EVERY news story that dealt with the fight to end abortion and protect the sanctity of life. I have even contributed to several stories they later reported on and on the surface it appeared I had a good working relationship with editor David Kupelian. I must say that I am deeply saddened and disappointed with WND over this issue.
Then, this evening, I read this story over at the Washington Times about one of Mitt Romney's backers questioning NRLC's endorsement of Fred Thompson, suggesting that it was due to Thompson greasing the organization's palms!!!
Some pro-life advocates were astonished by the National Right to Life Committee's endorsement of Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson yesterday รข€” a move they say puts politics over principle.
Paul M. Weyrich, president of the Free Congress Foundation, said the endorsement "makes no sense," and speculated that it had been motivated by money.
"I think in all probability the Thompson people were engaged with the National Right to Life people in financial dealing," said Mr. Weyrich, who has endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination.
"In the past, the Republican Party has funded National Right to Life, and while the committee can raise money on its own, it needs funding" from outside sources.
"Fred Thompson has a 100 percent pro-life voting record in the U.S. Senate and is proud to have the endorsement of an organization that fights to protect human life," said Thompson spokesman Darrel Ng.
David O'Stein, the committee's executive director, also scoffed at the assertion.
"He's got to be joking," Mr. O'Stein said. "There is absolutely no financial arrangement between the committee and the Thompson campaign or Fred Thompson."
*snip
Oh... poor baby. Having a hard time figuring out why they didn't endorse the Republican version of John "flip-flop" Kerry??? Ok, time you had a history lesson, you little freakin' whiner...
Of course now Romney claims to be Pro-Life *snicker-snicker* ...yeah, right.
On the other hand, Fred Thompson has congressional record that is 100% pro-life.
The NRLC must have really had a tough time with their decision... NOT!
Word is out that Presidential candidate Fred Thompson is about to get one ofthe most important endorsement any candidate running for that office can receive.
INDIANOLA, Iowa (AP) - Fred Thompson will be endorsed for president by the National Right to Life Committee, Republicans say.
The endorsement by the prominent anti-abortion group could give a boost to the campaign of the Republican former Tennessee senator, who has seen his poll numbers drop in recent weeks and has failed to become the consensus candidate for conservatives.
The decision was disclosed Monday by two Republicans who spoke on condition of anonymity in advance of the announcement that was expected Tuesday.
*snip*
The National Right to Life Committee has the support of millions of Americans fed up and determined to end a holocaust that has claimed nearly 50,000,000 unborn children since the Supreme Court's ruling on Roe v. Wade back almost 35 years ago. With the possibility of two Supreme Court vacancies upcoming within the next presidential term and a strong likelihood that two more constructionist justices would all but guarantee that terrible decision's reversal, those who have fought so long for this opportunity are not going to let it slip through their fingers. Despite attempts by other candidates and opponents who have tried to cast doubt on Thompson's pro-life record, the facts appear to speak clearly enough to have convinced the most highly recognized anti-abortion group in the nation to endorse the man they feel has the best chance of winning the 2008 presidential race and achieving that which they have fought so long to achieve. Will it mean the end of abortion in America? No, not by a long shot, but it would be a crushing defeat to the culture of death and would give us a strong foundation to build national acceptance of unborn children as the most innocent and defenseless among us who deserves our highest level of protection. For if not the defense of the most innocent and defenseless among us, whom should our President defend?
The National Right to Life Committee has indeed endorsed Fred Thompson for President of the United States of America, citing his long standing record on pro-life issues...
With the possibility of another SCOTUS opening being a reality within a few years, the next POTUS to occupy the White House will certainly have an important roll in shaping the future of our federal judicial branch of government. As some of the most important social issues in our country's history make their way to the steps of the Supreme Court, we will need at least one more strict constructionist judiciary in place in order to prevent liberal/globalist decisions from destroying our Constitution.
I just so happens that two of these Supreme Court Justices, responsible for many of the most liberal SCOTUS decisions, are also the two oldest. John Paul Stevens, the eldest of the nine at 87, was appointed by Jimmy Carter in 1975 and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, second eldest at 74 and former General Council of the ACLU, was appointed by B.J. Clinton in 1993.
With Fred Thompson now having officially thrown his hat in the ring as a Presidential contender, his stance on the sensitive nature of our Constitution therefor becomes a priority issue. IMO, Fred believes deeply in the sanctity of our Constitution and knows that the only way of protecting it is to appoint strict constructionist judges to federal court positions.
Don't punish women who have abortions," presidential hopeful Fred Thompson says. Punish the doctors who perform them.
Authorities "can do whatever they want to with abortion doctors, as far as I'm concerned," the former Tennessee senator said while campaigning in Western Iowa according to the Los Angeles Times. But "if it comes down to giving criminal sanctions to a 19-year-old girl and her mama, I'm against that."
While acknowledging that as lawyer and lobbyist, he worked in 1991 and 1992 for a group fighting restrictions on abortion counseling he said that once in the Senate he "voted against these people and everything they were interested in," he said.
Speaking to crowds during his Iowa appearances, Thompson revealed his views on a variety of issues, including activist judges, gay marriage and illegal immigration.
· Thompson chastised those judges in Iowa, Massachusetts and other states for rulings that opened the way to same-sex marriage, calling for constitutional amendments to curb judges' power to do so.
"What we're seeing here is a totally judicially created problem," he told a crowd in Sioux City, Iowa according to the Times. "You know how many states have affirmatively approved gay marriage? State legislatures? Zero."
He also said he backed a constitutional amendment to prevent states from being forced to recognize a same-sex marriage performed in another state under "some off-the-wall court decision, "and called for an amendment to bar judges from allowing same-sex marriage in a state unless that state's its legislature had approved it.
*snip*
Fred Thompson has also said publicly on several occasions that Roe v. Wade is bad law and that he would work to have the quarter century old decision overturned. Unfortunately, there are some conservatives who disagree with Thompson's stance on abortion saying that just getting the SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade does not go far enough and that an amendment should be added to the constitution to protect unborn children, which at present, Thompson appears to be against.
IMO, the overturning of Roe v. Wade should only be considered a first step toward legally protecting the unborn. The next step should be to convince the majority of states to enact and enforce laws that explicitly recognize the human status of unborn children. The hearts and minds of 3/4 majority our country's citizens must first be changed. Only then can the concept of a federal amendment to the Constitution be truly realized.
Regardless of amending the Constitution, Fred Thompson will certainly fight to ensure that our country's most sacred document will be protected by Judges who are committed to doing the same and THAT is what is highest on my list of requirements for electing our next President of these United States of America.
When I posed the picture of the abomination shown above, it was purely for the purpose of lampooning (or should I say "harpooning") Rosie-O for being the absolutely revolting moonbat pig that she is. All joking aside, I would have never imagined the predicament in which we find ourselves today.
For the past several years, Frankenstein scientists have been grooming their sociopathic egos by attempting to mimic the hand of God through genetic manipulation. First, it was experimentation on human embryos - human beings in their earliest stages of life. Next they attempted to clone animals... with little and questionable success. Then there was the ultimate horror... they tried to clone an actual human being!
After so many failed attempts at trying to play God, under the false premise of medical scientific advancement, these madmen are now creating animal-human hybrids for the presumptive purpose of farming regenerative tissues to replace damaged or diseased human organs.
...and now the British Government has now given this abominable research its stamp of approval!!!
Mixing cells and eggs to be allowed in search for new medical treatments
Ian Sample, science correspondent The Guardian, Tuesday September 4 2007
Plans to allow British scientists to create human-animal embryos are expected to be approved tomorrow by the government's fertility regulator. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority published its long-awaited public consultation on the controversial research yesterday, revealing that a majority of people were "at ease" with scientists creating the hybrid embryos.
Researchers want to create hybrid embryos by merging human cells with animal eggs, in the hope they will be able to extract valuable embryonic stem cells from them. The cells form the basic building blocks of the body and are expected to pave the way for revolutionary therapies for diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and even spinal cord injuries.
*snip*
To the best of my knowledge, the only proven advancements in the research of stem cells for medical cures have come from work done on umbilical cord blood and other bodily substances not derived from the outright murder and destruction of other human beings. Amazing medical advancements through ethical research are being achieved every day and given time, it may yield the cures we so desperately seek. However, the creation of life is miraculous and is a privilege intended for God alone. For us to think we have the right to create and destroy life for medical science or anything else is nothing short of evil.
